News From Chase!

Chase sent an e-mail today from India sharing a little bit of what is going with him. We thought we would share some of what he said on here, since he will not be updating the blog himself much, if at all.

"I am in Daharmsala India, living up in the mountain called Nadi, staying at a YWAM base. This place is so unbelievably beautiful, it almost feels like I am on vacation! The house is tucked up in the mountains with a our view out the windows of snow cap mountains everywhere.

Things are awesome here, we do local evangelism and also teach one on one classes of English with the Tibetans wanting to learn. Kind of a hard but good thing. The food here is ok, but no meat. The YWAM base here is vegetarian, but I’ll get over it. Things are pretty cool here.

We arrived in Deli and man o man, is it a packed city, crowded, dirty and tons and tons of people everywhere. I have never seen a third world country like this. Pretty intense, and will really challenge me to work on my faith. Definitely miss you guys, and the Aussie base with all my friends.

This Easter Sunday I am going to be preaching at the church we are attending. We have the whole service, Andrew will handle the worship, and others will be sharing their testimonies and bible verses. I felt led to take the sermon, so I will be starting with Genesis and moving to some of the prophesies of Jesus and then into His life. I feel God really wants me to hit baptism as well, leading to Good Friday and Easter. So, keep praying for me that I don’t offend anyone and get us into trouble.

I am really starting to love this place. It is not as crowded up here where we are, but still have many people. There are seven different cultures up here, one is the Monks, the Dali Lahma actually lives here, where we are, we went and held some prayer walks around his home. I really love the people up in the mountain of Nadi. We will be trekking into the mountains for about five days reaching some of the villages that are harder to get to. Should be really cool."

We also looked up some pictures of where Chase is exactly and thought we would share them. It's fun to be able to visualize all that Chase talks about, so we hope you enjoy these pictures!

The past few AWESOME WEEKS!!

Hey everyone!!

Sorry it has been so long sense I have last updated this blog, its been really hard for me to get on to the Internet lately. Thought I would give a brief update on how things have been going the last few weeks. The topic after prayer week was "The living Word" that was taught by one of the staff leaders on our school his name is Bryan Husffberger. I was so glad to have him for that week, he is the most knowledgeable guy I have ever met when it come to the Bible. I have really become close to him these past couple of months so it was really nice to have a speaker that we all had a close relationship with already. That week might have been slower compared to prayer week, but it was perfect to have after that, teaching us through a quick study through the Old Testament and a more in depth study in a couple of the New Testament books.

The following week was the "Character and Nature of God" taught by Jason Bell a YWAM staff at the Brisbane Base about an hour and a half from here. He was a really cool guy that love the Lord. He has a passion for film making and has a real gift in it. He has produced a number of big time movies that have been out in the theaters and has started to become known in Hollywood, yet he stays humbled and strong after God. I would definitely say that I could relate and enjoy talking to him one on one, rather than in his lectures. He was a fantastic guy to have for that week.

This last week was the topic of "Relationships" from one of he base directors and his wife Ryan and Kristin Kerk. They originally are from Canada and have been all over the world with YWAM for the last eight Years before join this base here, they have a two year old daughter named Seighla (say-la) that is Polly the cutest and smartest little girl I have ever met. This was an awesome week, so real and such a full force of God. The week was started out with the relationship with you and God than moving to friendship relationships and finishing with romantic relationships. This was such a good topic to have here. Relationships is where it all matters in life with Gods greatest commandments Love God and Love people. That's what were meant to do here on this world. It was really interesting to have a couple have this week,it was really informational and fun specially when the guys and girls split up and we went with Kristin and the girls with Ryan. I love to here the girls perspective on things.

These last few weeks were really awesome and great, just all have helped to develop who I am in Christ.
Thanks again for all your prayers and support.
BLESSINGS!!!!!

Prayer Week

New Doors being opened more and more!
This last week was so big I can’t put any words to it!!! I can’t even start to explain it, except that it was all God and his majesty from every minute to every hour of every day!!!! It was such an awesome week it just makes me want to scream!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
The first day was really cool!! The best way to start the week off! Monday morning bright and early at six a clock my group got to start the week off by getting the first prayer slot of the week, then immediately after, we had all base worship as we normally do at eight a clock. Today was a special Monday; they have these every so often their called “Giving Mondays”. This was something that God really showed up on. The point of it is that, everyone involved in YWAM is there, all students, staff of the base, the skate ministries staff that our base is involved in and anyone of the locals that would like to come they can. Then if anyone has need of anything (ex. Outreach money, debt, computers, cars, rent money, surf boards) and in need of some help you would write it up on the white board in front of the room with your name. When we totaled the amount up of everything that was needed there was an amount of just over 68,000$, yeah huge!!!! We than went back into worship and if we were lead to we would go up and write on a piece of paper of what we were giving and how much with our name. God just came through and people just kept giving and giving and we just saw the numbers going down and down it was so amazing to see it happen! When the papers finally stopped coming in there were to staff members up there with calculators and there was a total of 40,000$ dollars was brought in and given to everybody up on the board with two laptops, surf board, two IPods a few bikes and a lawn mower. How cool is that to see? There were some people in real need of help and for God to show up like that how AWSOME is that!!? This really shows how NOTHING is too big or too small for God!! After that our speaker Leon Rusel from New Zealand a.k.a a “kiwi” came in and talked for about an hour, until he felt led to just have some time of intersession and worship, God was just starting to show us on how much he was going to impact us this week in these first couple hours of prayer week. There were just convictions after convictions that people had to face and to defeat the fear that the enemy tries to put into our heads so much. Then to come up to the micro phone and speak it out and to receive prayer from our whole group if you felt led to and were obedient to Him. This broke so many people down, bringing many to tears and not just the girls many of the guys were just broken, we all were transformed and changed by God through this week in such dramatic and sincere way. It’s so amazing to always walk everyday in Freedom that we all have. This week was turned upside down from the normal week, with the 24/5 prayer going on and we had three night lectures this week rather than one that sometimes they would go until two in the morning. Every lecture was always on Gods time and finished when God wanted us to finish, making our lunch cooks really mad at times when showing an hour and a half late to lunch. The prayer times were the most impactful to me this week. My prayer times were at 6 am Monday morning, 12 pm Tuesday, Thursday at 4 am and 10 pm and then my last set time was at 6 am Friday, they were all two hour sessions and just a full time of prayer and praising God!!!
God had shown us such GREAT things this week through the prayer, the fasting and the worship that was going on during the week that I can’t explain or have any words to even describe it a little. God did not only work through our lives but He also brought many to us to preach the Gospel to, while we were in the prayer room a group of guys just walked in the room. At first they were outside laughing at us than one of my mates walked out there and invited them in and a few came in and just started pouring their whole lives out on us. Just from talking to them you could just sense that God wanted to us them so badly in their future. Some of them had come from terrible pasts with drugs and abuse in their lives, but they totally got rocked by God. One of them now feel that God wants him to write a book to reach out to kids that have dealt with the same type of stuff, they were totally turned around into the right direction after that little step into our prayer room. Praise God. There was another testimonie that was really exciting to see, one of the guys here on the DTS named Daniel Wilson from Washington woke up one day and really felt the Lord telling him that he needed to go to the work out place along the beach. He was battling it in his head not to go, than finally was obedient and took off there, as he was walking down he felt that he was going to meet a guy named Gerry and that he had just broken up with his girlfriend and was going to commit suicide. Yeah pretty heavy but that’s what he felt just beating on his heart. He finally got down there and saw this guy sitting on a bench, he prayed to God is this the guy? Daniel sat down at a different bench and was just fighting that fear of doubt and fear of man that the enemy was trying to put in his head to keep him away. He tested God and said if he sees three birds come sit on his bench he would go. Then of course three birds came and plopped up on the beach, how crazy?!! Then Daniel the smallest guy here with the most faith In God that I have ever seen got up and sat next to the guy on the bench, introduced himself and found out that this guy’s name was Gerry and that he had slept on the beach last night because he had just broken up with his girl friend and she was his ride home. He was just down in the dumps and had a 36 pack of beer; his plan was to get as drunk as possible and swim out to the sea and not come back, how sad was that he had two kids at home to. Well than brave little Daniel just started talking, he said words just started flowing out of his mouth, they weren’t his words and they kept flowing out word after word, the Holy Spirit was just flowing out and using Daniel to convict this guy. Daniel said that Gerry started to cry than he started to cry, the first time he said he has ever cried sense he has been here. This guy ended up accepting Christ into his heart and now lives in FREEDOM and saved his life. PRAISE GOD!!!!!
This whole week was like this!! So many stories, too many to tell!!! God has changed our group even more than he has!! I know God has such a huge plan for this DTS and for our outreach teams. I just can’t wait anylonger!!!!!
THANKS again for all of you, for your prayers, your support and all your love!!!
GOD BLESS!!!!!

The Lord is Love

Whats up yall?

Hey just wanted to get on here give ya a little bit of info of whats coming up ahead!
This is Sunday today for us A.K.A "Valentines Day", just finished off of the week with Glen Vines speaking about the "The Fear of the Lord" which I said earlier he was such an Awesome speaker to have this past week. There were so many stories that he shared with us, that really have brought my Faith stronger and made me more dependent on God with my daily life. Yesterday there was about twenty of us took a about an hour drive North to the Kanillila falls! This was the coolest water fall I have ever seen, we also could jump off one part of the water fall which was about twenty some feet up so not to bad, but good enough for me! This next week is called Prayer week, this should be a fun and hearing allot from God week. One thing that will be really cool is that we have split up into groups of three to four and one or two leaders and we will be taking two hour shifts at a time with our groups in the prayer room with it never being empty! So it will be going non stop for five days with people praying constantly, my first shift is Monday morning from 6am-8am not sure of my other scheduled time, but we are most definitely allowed to be their longer at anytime. Some of the base directors will be heading it up. This should be such great week, I'm so excited for it!!!

Hope all is well back in the cold!!!
Gods Blessings

Half way through the lecture phase!

GOING SO FAST!!!!

This is the begging of the half way point, it has gone by way to fast!! This is our first week back sense being back from Byron ( which was such an awesome and growing week in my faith). This week we are focusing on "The Fear of the Lord", our speaker Glen Vines is originally from here in the Sunny Coast, but the past 15 years he has been in and out of Tibet, India and Nepal. Which is really cool considering that's where I'm going for my outreach. I think this is the most impactful teacher we have had here so far! This guy really brings the fire of the Lord when he preaches, back home he is known to be the pastor to preach for eight to nine hours non stop!! I feel so many different leadings form the Lord this past week, really trying to focus on his plan for me, but keep hearing Him say to me to just wait, just wait!!!This last week has realy been teaching me different things of Gods ways, speacialy just giving him control of everything that happens. Have been preparing more and more for our out reach that's just under two months away, the whole group has been feeling from God that huge things are going to take place, things that we cant even imagine, even hearing from our speaker about what God is doing there. This past week the out reach teams of the DTS school before has come back for their debrief week before they come home, have herd many cool and encouraging stories.
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR SUPPORTING ME THROUGH THIS AMAZING JOURNEY THE LORD HAS ME ON!! THERE IS NO WAY I COULD BE HEAR WITHOUT ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND PRAYERS!!!

GOD BLESS!!!

BYRON BAY!!! What an adventure!!

Hey there everybody!! How you all doing?

Byron Bay:
We are back now up at the Sunny Coast three hours from Byron. Got back yesterday around noon. This last week was CRAZY, INTENSE and filled with some AMAZING stories that are only what God could do!! This is the first time I have been able to get on the computer sense last time. The only Internet we had was a the girls house, where they all sleped. The guys got to sleep on the very so comfortable floor filled with bugs and huge cockroaches at the church that the Byron Bay base it associated with, this was where we had all our lectures and meals everyday. There was so much that happened everyday that I'm even a few days behind on my journal. Monday was the first day of everything, we had worship as we normally do on Monday mornings than started it out with lectures right after from nine to one a clock. Our speaker Kevin Sheel, is one of the Byron base leaders he was such a great guy so soft spoken and just had the gift of Evangelism. I was so blessed to have had him this week. We also had another leader from Byron, Ian is his name he was in charge of all the planning and the heading up on out reach times. This guy has the lord and a passion just burning for Evangelism I learned so much from this guy.
Evangelism opportunities:
Monday night we did "Cardboard Testimonies" where we wrote down words on that we felt led to. With that we than went into the city and walked around, sat at a bench or on the sidewalk, some people brought their guitars and bongos with, talk about humbling yourself and giving up your pride while doing that. This sure brought up alot of conversations that was really cool to see.
Tuesday: We had lectures for about three hours tell ELEVEN than as a group we took off to Nim Bin (The Weed Capital of Australia). We went there set up some tables, grills and we brought sound equipment and instruments in a small park in the middle of the little city than had a free Bar-Bay. We gave out about 200 Snags (hot dogs) with chips and had live music there. It so cool to see these people how open they are also with our DTS students how they so boldly stood up and made conversation with these people and handing out free Bibles.
Wednesday: This day we had lectures until Two in the afternoon, than that evening we stayed in Byron Bay and brought the sound equipment again and set it up in this park by a bus stop in the city. This park was really filled with the Aboriginals of Australia, we had people sharing their testimonies on the microphones and the rest out talking. We gathered money from the students that had some money to share and got about twenty five pizzas and handed pizza out. This was a very big, intense night and huge growing point for all of us, it was such a sweet night.
Thursday: This was our last day and night, lectures went until about 11:30 and than we were having a volley ball tournament on the beach. We brought the big speakers again and two nets, we all partnered up and went out tying to find team mates, I partnered up with one of the leaders (Jay Reed) we found two guys from the Netherlands they are backpacking Australia ( which is HUGE HERE), and entered the tourney as the "Mighty Ducks" with 32 teams. We made it to the Semi finals and than lost, just barely. Following the tourney we had another Bar-Bay right their on the beach for anyone to come, it was such an awesome out reach opportunity!!
This is it for all the evangelism times we had scheduled this last week, as you can see it was packed to the top of stuff. The Lord gave us strength and protection through the whole week, which was such a blessing. This was a very challenging and growing week for all of us yet a very successful week having many come to Christ and so many seeds planted and showing up in such huge ways with heeling's and stories that would take days to tell. Again thanks so much for all your thoughts, prayers and supporting me through this huge growing opportunity!!! I know for a fact this is where I'm supposed to be.
BLESSINGS!!!

THE ROOMIES!!

The view from the Airplane

The weeks are starting to fly by!

Its been awhile!! sorry!

These days are going so fast now, the weeks are feeling like days! I thought I would update you all on a little bit of info now that everything is becoming clear and in order!! Last week we had our first speaker come in for our first week of lectures, the title was " Knowing The Father Heart Of God!! Our speaker came in flying from Miami on his way to Thailand where he has been a full time missionary their for fifteen years!! It was very impactful and interesting the way he spoke about God and the way God Works!! He was here from Monday morning lecture until Thursday morning lecture. This week was a little bit different than the normal routine. This week was " Hearing the voice of God",but with Australia Day on tuesday (there national day) we had it all differnt. Our speaker for the week was a guy from Germany that is one of the Base leaders that also owns two skate boarding shops here in Queensland his name is Borris. But he didnt start until wedensday, he had one of his empolyees of the board shop that did his DTS here at the sunny coast last year come and speak for a couple hours on monday, Than tuesday a lady involved in the church where we are located came in and talked about Australia and there history. When Borris came in and started speaking he used ways of talking that I could learn from. This week realy has brought different aspects to my thinking of God, how to come persue, push Him and understand the way He speaks to us all!

For future stuff..

This next week our whole base is going down to Byron Bay for " Evangelisim Week" and meeting up with that Base down there!! It should be very exciting, Im not totaly sure on what we will be doing yet but, its always good if its for the glory of God!!

My Outreach team is becoming more and more prepared. We have started planning on where we will be going, have not made the details on what type of ministry were going to be working with yet. But we are leaving that up to God to decide as well as the whole trip! Im not sure if I told you who is our team. There is a total of eight of us, four guys and four girls including a male and female leader. The guys would be Andrew frome Tennesse he is Twenty and has an amazienig talent of singing and worship that is out of this world, Peter from Miami but been living in South korea for the last five years he is 19 and Isaac the male leader from Florida he is 26 years old. The females are hellene and Mariane there both twenty and from Norway, than we have Breezy she is 19 and from California and last but not least Fleur from France the female leader!!

So this should be AWSOME!!!! Im already having visions form God and knowing that he is going to do MAJOR WO

Wow First week gone already!!!

Im saying sorry ahead of this post with not much to say, cosidering that I had just typed for a half hour and my computer just shut off on me and deleted my post!!

But besides that...
Everything here is getting better and better each day!!! The weather is realy HOT, the beach is Gorgious, and the warmest water I have ever beeen in!! Im lovening every moment here!!! We have been getting closer and closer as a group every moment PRAISE GOD!!!! I have fallen in love with this culture down here with everyone just so freindly, nice, laid back, relaxed not going... going... like we always are. I absoultly love how they are so chill even walking into any store with out a shirt or shoes, its just a way of life down here. Every day we have had lectures from eight to twelve with some days the spirit just out pooring that we kept going. Two day ago we had a chance to share our testimonies with echother listening about how we got to YWAM and anything else we had wanted to share. I think that was such a defining moment for all of us!! It was so awsome to see how the spirit realy opend up some of the guys and they shared to all of us! Im prety good with all the names now being able to remember them now, it sure was getting embarassing talking to a girl and calling her the wrong name. We have free time from after lunch to dinner time, we all leave as a home to the church for our meals ten to six, so we do have alot of free time. With all that free time we do have work duties, they consist of dinner crews, house facility crews, house cleaning cres and lunch crews wich I would be on, I put the tabels, chairs away and vaccuem the roome we eat and have lectures at. Yesterday was pretty sweet!! After the lectures they talked to us about our out reaches and where they would be, they were China, India/Bangladesh, India/Nepa, Philipians and Indonisia and gave us fifteen minutes to pray and write down what we wanted. I said let it be Gods choice for me so any of them would be fine. All of us students were haveing a hard time being pacient!! I think we got the leaders a little sick of us last night!!! they came out to and told us today!! I would be going with a group of six students Andrew, Peter, Breezy, Mairiane and Hellen and a male leader Isaac a female Fleur to a place that we are going to rock with the LORD!!! INDIA/Nepal, so I will be able to see MT. Everst. that will be pretty cool PRAISE GOD!! so thats all i got time for today!!! Hope you can understand my terrible writting skills!! THANKS SOOO MUCH AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS!! p.s maybe i can get some pictures on next tim!! GOD BLESS!!!!

Chase is down under!!

Chase is in Australia (praise our Lord), we will get on the blog when arrives at campus later this day . He arrived at 6:30 am Sunday and got through customs ok. (they are 17 hours ahead, thanks Sydney you were right, I was not doing the math correctly) He tried to call me and was not able too as T mobile gave us the wrong numbers to attach to our numbers. Still not sure if we got it right yet. He ended up paying a couple bucks and emailing me, good thinking on his part.
It is a God thing, I have had my phone with me constantly, but not paying much attention to my computer as I thought we were all set with the phone, well of course it was over a half hour since they should have landed, so your mind starts thinking the worst, and he hadn’t called yet. I just kept praying that he is fine, and all of a sudden I heard an email come through, stopped what I was doing, checked and it was Chase! It definitely was a noise that said check me! He couldn’t get through and so went on internet paying a couple bucks. So glad for our technology. Well I thought I might try to call him, and it worked. He was going to take an earlier bus, so he is now on the last part of his journey to get there. It is long day for him, and I think he is a little nervous and tired, but excited to be there. He said they are all driving on the wrong side of the street!
He also met a guy on the airplane that lives in Brisbane, about late twenties, and loves to surf. He was visiting his girlfriend in Toronto. They have traded emails, and he said he would be happy to teach Chase how to surf. His outreach has already begun.
All for now, hopefully Sydney will update blog tonight when he gets there. They are having a barbeque to meet everyone tonight, with school starting tomorrow morning, or orientation anyway.
Thank you for all your prayers! Thank you sweet Jesus!

Love and blessings to all of you
Lisa

Chase is on his way!

Chase is now in the air! He is on his way to Los Angeles, where he will have about a five hour layover and will then board his flight to Australia later this evening. Thank you to everyone for all the support, especially the prayers for Chase! I know it's meant a great deal to Chase, as well as my family and I. Also a special thanks to the Lindahls for opening up their home for Chase last night to say his goodbyes! I saw a huge burst in his spirit after that time of prayer and chance to reieve encouraging words. Though we are all sad to see him go, this is a huge step for Chase and so exciting! What an experience to leave what is comfortable to him and put all faith in God, trusting and following where he leads. God has BIG plans for Chase, just as Michael Manders kept saying over and over today at the airport, and with Chase's servant and open heart, he is giving himself fully to the Lord.

I will update the blog to let everyone know when he has landed in Australia, which should be about 2:30 tomorrow afternoon!

Thank you for loving and supporting my brother!!

Packin' Away!!

Trying to find the last pieces of my downUNDERWEAR to throw in my backpack!
